Mt Maria College Mitchelton Class Clowns Featured on Network 10’s Totally Wild

Mt Maria College Student Class Clowns were filmed by Network 10’s Totally Wild team recently.  They were filmed participating in a comedy workshop taught by Comedian Mel Buttle.

The students in Years 10, 11 and 12 were preparing for their heats in the upcoming Comedy Festival which was held at the Brisbane Powerhouse.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival host a national Class Clowns program for students every year to encourage young people to hone their comedy skills.

Cultural Program Leader at Mt Maria College Mitchelton, Mrs Kath Bryant said the students loved having the Totally Wild team there to film their Class Clowns workshop prior to their live performances at the Comedy Festival.

“Class Clowns gets students to step outside their comfort zones and try a new style of comedy in a professional environment with a public live audience.” Mrs Bryant said.

“The best part is that students have the opportunity to work with professional comedians and that the festival encourages young people to develop individual creative expression via comedy, writing and performance.”

Year 10 Student Sam Campion was a guest host with Totally Wild in his younger years and said that shooting the Class Clowns segment with Totally Wild at school was awesome.

Of the Class Clowns experience Sam said “Class Clowns was brilliant, getting on stage and performing, I loved meeting all the cool people, all of them were funny,” Sam said.
